Teachings
The word yoga literally means union: yoga practice aims to bring the Sadhaka (practitioner) to realization of their true nature, which is without a sense of separation between themselves and the world. In the unawakened state, human beings perceive themselves as separate from the world, and chase deep and lasting happiness outside themselves. Since the world is transient and unstable it cannot bring lasting happiness, so this quest involves suffering and disappointment. The purpose of all yoga systems is to bring purification of the mind and realization of one's true nature. In the final state (Mukti, Sahaja Samadhi) the practitioner is totally free from greed, desire, last, anger and delusion, and abides in the state of eternal freedom, the state of non-duality.
